The Eagle Lake Winter Riders Snowmobile Club wishes to express its thanks to the gracious landowners who allow us to ride on their property. Without their generosity, the Eagle Lake snowmobile trail system would not exist!

THANK YOU LANDOWNERS!

Landowners in Maine have a tradition of allowing public recreation on private land. Eagle Lake landowners are no exception. All of the Eagle Lake Winter Riders Snowmobile trails are on privately owned land, and we are fortunate to have a cordial and trusting relationship with local landowners.

Access to private land is a privilege, not a right. It is critical that we respect the property that we are privileged to use. We need to remember that our actions affect everyone who wants to use private land for recreation. Please do not destroy what club members have worked so hard to build. That means staying on marked trails, not littering, keeping noise levels down when passing near residences and always live and ride by the rules below when using other's property.

Failure to abide by these rules and to respect the landowners can result in the loss of permission to use their land.

Rules to live by—and ride by

1. If you carry it in, CARRY IT OUT.

8. If you make a mess, CLEAN IT UP.

2. If you open it, CLOSE IT.

9. If you break it, FIX IT.

3. If you turn it on, TURN IT OFF.

10. If you can't fix it, CALL SOMEONE WHO CAN.

4. If you unlock it, LOCK IT.

11. If it belongs to someone else, GET PERMISSION TO USE IT.

5. If you borrow it, RETURN IT.

12. If you don't know how to operate it, DON'T TOUCH IT.

6. If you move it, PUT IT BACK.

13. If it doesn't concern you, DON'T MESS WITH IT.

7. If you use it, TAKE CARE OF IT.
